Frequently Asked Questions

Why did you change your name?

As Fallon Clinic, we were very often confused with Fallon Community Health Plan. We are, in fact, two separate organizations. The name Reliant Medical Group helps to better distinguish us in the market and it better describes what we do – provide medical services.

Did Fallon Clinic get purchased?

No, Fallon Clinic was not purchased. We affiliated with Atrius Health, which is an alliance of five other medical groups in Massachusetts that are similar organizations with similar goals. We will be sharing resources and learning from each other to grow and enhance services in the future, but we will continue to operate independently in the communities we serve.

Did you change your name because of the Atrius Health affiliation?

No, we considered a name change for some time.

Why didn't FCHP change its name?

We can’t speak for FCHP; we just know that it was important for us to change our name so that patients and potential patients clearly understood our mission – to provide medical services (not insurance) to patients.

What is Atrius?

Atrius Health is an alliance of five other medical groups in Massachusetts (Dedham Medical Associates, Harvard Vanguard, Southboro Medical Group, Granite Medical, South Shore Medical Center). These organizations are very much like Reliant Medical Group in the way they provide care, which makes us good partners.

We will be sharing resources and learning from each other to grow and enhance services in the future. All of the partners operate independently in the communities they serve.

Since you are affiliated with Atrius Health, can I now see doctors at the other medical groups?

Even though Reliant Medical Group is an Atrius Health partner, we still operate independently. As always, the doctors you are able to see is dependent upon your particular health insurance plan. It’s best to contact your insurance carrier for specific information about the doctors in your plan’s network.

As our relationship with Atrius Health evolves, it is our hope that in the future Reliant Medical Group patients will have access to all of the nearly 1,000 doctors in the Atrius Health network.

Why did you choose the name Reliant Medical Group?

We did a great deal of marketing research when we were considering our name change. Focus groups that included patients, staff, and non-patients reacted very positively to this name. Reliant comes out of the root word, “reliable.” The people in our studies agreed that we provide care that patients can rely on and trust.
