Nurse Practitioner Ellen Peterson is a graduate of the University of Lowell and the University of Massachusetts – Lowell. She has been a certified Nurse Practitioner since 2007. Ellen started her career in nursing when she was just 17, working at a small nursing home near where she lived. Ellen decided to become a Nurse Practitioner because she wanted to do more for her patients. So when her children became older, she decided to head back to school to learn more. As a Nurse Practitioner who works in Family Practice, Ellen enjoys getting to know her patients and caring for them in all stages of their life. Ellen believes that patients should always collaborate in their care. “Communicating and listening are an important way to establish a helping, healing relationship,” she explains. “I enjoy learning about my patient’s concerns and how they approach the challenges in their lives. They have been a great source of inspiration for me.” During her free time Ellen loves to take walks, catch up on a good book, travel, and enjoys outdoor pursuits like camping and hiking. She also enjoys visiting her three daughters, who live in Pennsylvania, Utah, and near Boston.
