Van Services Provide a Vital Transportation Link for Patients
May 15, 2014 / Geriatrics / Seniors

Did you know that Reliant Medical Group offers free round-trip van service for many of our patients? At Reliant we know that finding transportation to doctors’ appointments can be difficult for some of our patients, so we try to provide options that ensure patients can get the care they need.

Reliant offers two types of free van transportation services for patients. The first is regularly scheduled service from our service sites that are outside of the Worcester area. This is designed to make it easier for patients to receive specialty services and diagnostic care at the Worcester Medical Center and 300 Grove Street in Worcester. This Medi-Van service is available from Leominster, Fitchburg, Milford and Webster and can accommodate people with wheelchairs.

The second type of service is designed to help elderly patients who have no means of transportation to get to their much-needed medical appointments. This transportation service is provided by funding generously offered by Reliant Medical Group Foundation and is run by Reliant’s Care Management department. The program has successfully provided taxi rides and wheelchair-accessible vans to many homebound seniors across Central Massachusetts. If you or a loved need help getting to your appointment and wish to take advantage of this free service, please call (508) 595-2041. This special van service is available to all qualified elderly patients at every one of our sites.

One of the keys to staying healthy is getting the care you need, when you need it, That’s why we’re happy to give our patients a lift when they need it.

Regularly-scheduled Van Service to Worcester

Leominster: (978) 466-3333 (Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday only)

Remember that you must call in advance to make a reservation. Please note that van service does not operate every day of the week in all locations.

Are you saying there is a Reliant van service between WESTBOROUGH and WORCESTER??. It doesn’t appear in your list of “pick up and deliver”??? Neither did the doctor’s office at St. Vincent mention this fact when I had to decline an appointment that Dr. Doret had arranged for me because of transportation difficulties.

      Hi Micki,

As of right now, our van service does not go to or from Westborough. As far as the audiologist goes, this is the first request that we have received about having an audiologist at our Westborough practice. We will definitely keep an ear out and if we find that there is a demand for van services and an audiologist we will definitely look into seeing if we can acquire both. Thank you for letting us know how we can make your experience with Reliant a better one!

I live in Westborough and see doctors at the Reliant Group on E. Main Street and I am very happy with the medical help I have received to date. However, you do not have an “ear doctor” on staff there and Reliant recenly recommended the audiologist you have at St. Vincent in Worcester. But….How to get there??!! With perhaps at least 200 senior citizens down the road from your Westborborough office, (many of whom are probably deaf …..or VERY deaf!!) we would welcome the services of such a doctor here in Westborough if only, say, one day a month? Any possibility in the near future??
