Getting the flu can be more than just uncomfortable and inconvenient, it can also be dangerous. Many people, especially the elderly, are hospitalized for serious flu complications each year. That’s why at Reliant Medical Group we encourage all patients six months and older to make sure they get a flu vaccination each year.
Our 2016 flu clinic schedule is listed below. All Reliant Medical Group patients can attend our flu vaccination clinics. The schedule has been reduced somewhat this year as we are encouraging patients to make appointments with their medical provider to receive their flu shot.
Please be aware that the FluMist nasal spray vaccine is not being offered this flu season. This is because the nasal flu mist vaccine was deemed ineffective during the previous flu season by an advisory panel of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. For this reason, all flu vaccinations will have to be given by injection this year. More detailed information on the flu and flu vaccinations is available here.

Is it too late to get flu shots for my children in Westborough. We missed the clinic dates.
Hi Jean. It’s not too late! You can always make an appointment for you or your children to get flu shots.
Ther is always a very good turn out in Leominster for the Flu clinic why is it by appointment this year?
Hi John. Many sites have decided not to hold large flu clinics because of dwindling interest from the patients. It no longer made sense when few patients participated (used to be thousands and has dwindled down to only a few hundred). Many patients now receive their vaccines when they see their providers or at mini flu clinics held at the sites. For information about the mini clinics, please call the site.
Hi. Why have they stopped doing the flu clinics in Leominster and other surrounding areas ? Thank-You
Hi Deborah. Many sites are not holding flu clinics because of dwindling interest from the patients. You can still feel free to make an appointment with your preferred site to get your flu shot!
When can I get a flu shot at May Street, Worcester
Hi Suzanne, please contact your doctor’s office and they will be able to set up an appointment for you!
Sad that you no longer are doing it in Fitchburg. When you did the clinic it didn’t cost me, making an appointment just for a flu shot now will cost me an office visit and take a doctor away from administering to those who need medical help. Dosn’t make fiscal or medical sense!
Hi Valorie. The attendance at our flu clinics have been dwindling which is why many sites have decided not to do flu clinics. The office visits are quick and if you are coming in for only a flu shot then you will not be billed a copay. The appointment is with a nurse rather than your primary care provider.
Why aren’t you offering more clinics? It would seem to be much more cost effective rather than have so many people go through their doctors!!
Hi Vicki. Many of our sites have stopped doing flu clinics because it no longer made sense when few patients participated (used to be thousands and has dwindled down to only a few hundred). There is no cost to you if you make an appointment with your preferred site to receive your flu shot!
Is Worcester or Auburn having clinics?
Hi Marc, Worcester and Auburn are doing flu shots by appointment only.
What about Worcester location?
Hi Carl, our Worcester locations are doing flu shots by appointment only.
I need more day and time options! Especially Westboro.
Hi Sara. We appreciate your feedback. Please note that if you can’t make any of the flu clinics you can always make an appointment for your flu shot.
It’s too bad that the Reliant flu vaccination clinics aren’t doing it again in Worcester as in past years. May Street is rather more convenient that my doctor’s office in St. Vincent’s Hospital. A couple of hours as a flu clinic on a Saturday morning would be nice.
Hi Roger. Thank you for your input, we appreciate it! Please remember that we also take appointments for flu shots.
What about the Leominster location?
Hi Bill, our Leominster location is doing flu shots by appointment only.
