As we unveil our new state of the art Reliant Medical Group Women’s Center for Pelvic Medicine and Surgery in August, we would like to discuss the benefit of having such a comprehensive center available in our community for the treatment of women with pelvic floor dysfunction. Taking care of our patients over the years, we have recognized the importance of taking a multidisciplinary approach when caring for pelvic floor disorders. That’s why in our new Center for Pelvic Medicine and Surgery we will be working with outstanding subspecialists who are leaders in their field in order to provide excellent care for our patients.
Women with pelvic floor issues can present with a wide variety of symptoms, including urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse. As a result of this, the clinical evaluation and formulation of treatment plans in these women often involve a multiple diagnostic process including examinations, imaging studies and diagnostic procedures in order to formulate a treatment plan. The process of coming up with a treatment plan can also involve contributions from subspecialists such as urogynecologists, pelvic floor physical therapists, colorectal or general surgeons, nutritionists and gastroenterologists, all of whom can be critical in coming up with a suitable plan. As we expand our resources for this type of care, we are excited to be opening our new center, which is the first of its kind in Central Massachusetts.
By utilizing our state of the art, multidisciplinary approach, all of us at the Reliant Medical Group Women’s Center for Pelvic Medicine and Surgery are confident in bringing you the best in care for your pelvic floor needs.
