“At a group practice like Reliant Medical Group, you’re not working in a vacuum.”

A warm and personable physician, Dr. Dale St. Lawrence has been practicing medicine for over 14 years. As a pediatrician at Reliant Medical Group’s May Street medical center, she likes to get to know her patients on an individual basis. “When I am in the exam room with a patient, I try to forget about everything else but the person that is there with me,” she explains. “Getting to know my patients allows me to come up with a treatment plan that suits them best.”

Dr. St. Lawrence chose pediatrics as her specialty because she loves children and dealing with families. “In pediatrics, you get to know the whole family. I have families that I have treated since I was a resident. I think it’s a positive thing knowing patients that long a period of time.”

Like other pediatricians, Dr. St. Lawrence has seen how immunizations have decreased the number of diseases she deals with. “We don’t have as many diseases affecting children as we used to thanks to immunizations. However, we have a lot more behavioral issues than before. Fortunately, I have a real good focus on child behavior and child development issues thanks to the work I did in my residency.”

Dr. St. Lawrence enjoys practicing in the collaborative atmosphere of Reliant Medical Group. “It’s always great to have a second set of eyes to take a look at a problem. The great thing about working here is that if one of us wants another opinion, we can just ask a fellow pediatrician or specialist. At a group practice like Reliant Medical Group, you’re not working in a vacuum.”

When she is not busy with her patients at May Street, Dr. St. Lawrence enjoys skiing and hiking with her husband and three children. She also enjoys watching her children play sports such as basketball, softball and soccer. Dr. St. Lawrence is a strong believer in exercise and likes to swim 2 or 3 days a week to stay in shape. “I find swimming laps a great way to get exercise and relax at the same time.”
