As a licensed mental health counselor at Reliant Medical Group, Edward enjoys helping patients by setting goals, developing treatment plans, identifying situations and behaviors that may be interfering with their wellness and recovery, and supporting them in addressing any symptoms or stressors that could be impacting their daily levels of functioning.
In working with patients Edward likes to uncover what motivates and challenges them the most and what disturbs their thinking and emotions in their daily lives. His goal is to help his patients improve their ability to feel, think, and act so that they may live their lives more effectively. Edward has experience in using behavioral counseling theories which seek to modify learned behaviors that are problematic and undesirable and replace them with more acceptable positive behaviors. In addition, Edward has experience in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment Therapy (ACT).
In his work at Reliant Edward focuses on addressing the patient as a whole and assisting and supporting them. In his work he emphasizes self-development and helping patients realize their full potential rather than focusing primarily on their problems. Edward is committed to taking a flexible approach in which he adapts to the unique needs of each patient depending on the treatment problem, goals, and the person’s expectations and levels of motivation.
In his spare time Edward enjoys gardening as well as fishing, reading and swimming. He also has a small side business involving liquid fertilizer.
