“I think of it as really an honor and a privilege to take care of patients.”

It was her love of science and desire to help others that led Dr. Elizabeth Minevich to become a physician. She now enjoys practicing as an internist in Southborough. “What I love about being an internist is that I get to care for patients and get to know them personally over a period of years,” she explains. “Plus there’s such an amazing diversity of conditions that you treat as a primary care doctor.”

In her practice Dr. Minevich enjoys working as a team, both with her staff as well as her patients. “Caring for patients involves working not only with the other providers of the care team but also with your patients. You can lecture a patient on something you want them to do but they have to be on-board for it to work. I always try to help my patients understand why I am asking them to do something – I want to empower them to take charge of their own health.”

As a physician, Dr. Minevich knows that the way doctors provide care is constantly evolving and changing. “One of the reasons I like working at Reliant is that the organization is very committed to quality care and is in the forefront of improving the quality of care with new ideas and practices,” she explains. “I like the fact that the organization is always moving forward.”

More than anything, Dr. Minevich truly enjoys taking care of patients each day. “I think of it as really an honor and a privilege to take care of patients. As a primary care doctor, you get to know your patients and their families and share in their life experiences. I find great joy in teaching my patients ways to stay healthy, but I’m also always impressed by how much I learn from my patients, too.”

In her spare time Dr. Minevich enjoys traveling, yoga, and spending time with her husband, her son and their Great Dane, “Gigi.” Some of her recent travel destinations include Greece, Turkey and Kenya.
