Elizabeth started her career in medicine as a registered nurse and before that offered healthy nutrition and lifestyle programs as a health coach. She decided to become a nurse practitioner to help empower her patients, improve their health, and prevent and manage chronic disease.
As an advanced practice clinician Elizabeth believes that primary care offers a wonderful opportunity to form long-term relationships with patients to prevent and manage chronic disease through evidence-based practice. “I enjoy working with a wide range of age groups from adolescents to geriatric patients. I also have a special interest in women’s health and sexual health.”
Elizabeth believes that patients know themselves best. “I feel that it’s important to listen to patient concerns and work collaboratively to form a relationship based on mutual trust and respect.,” she explains. “I love getting to know patients and learning what is important to them – what drives their lifestyle and health care decisions so that we can work together to meet their healthcare goals. I enjoy educating my patients on how to live a healthy lifestyle, and the best ways to prevent or reduce complications of chronic diseases.
When she is not busy with patients Elizabeth enjoys spending time with family and friends and her pet cat Mr. Ebbie. Some of her hobbies include swimming, meditation and yoga.
