A provider may not have star ratings accompanying his/her website profile for one or more of the following reasons:
“I like to involve the patient at every step in the process…”
A native of San Diego, Dr. Ernesto Gonzalez loves practicing in OB-Gyn because it gives him the opportunity to provide both surgical and in-office care. “I find OB-Gyn very interesting because you get to treat something different every day of the week,” he explains. “I enjoy being able to treat women at different stages of their life and providing the high quality surgical and obstetrical care they need.”
A highly skilled surgeon, Dr. Gonzalez performs ablations, tubal ligations, IUD and other contraceptive implant insertions, colposcopies, and sterilizations when needed. He has a special interest in caring for women undergoing high-risk pregnancies that need specialized care.
In his practice Dr. Gonzalez believes in shared decision-making with his patients. “I like to present options to the patient and have a discussion about how to proceed,” he explains. “I like to involve the patient at every step in the process, and make sure they understand all the options and then make a joint decision with them on how to move ahead with their care.”
When treating his patients, Dr. Gonzalez likes to recommend digital apps if he believes it can be helpful. “There are some very good apps that have easy-to-understand guidelines for birth control and high-risk medical conditions that I will recommend,” he explains. “I enjoy helping patients work through their problems.”
In his spare time Dr. Gonzalez enjoys cooking, baking, and traveling. Recently, he and his partner have enjoyed exploring New England.
