A graduate of UMass Amherst, Jessica became involved in healthcare during her freshman year in college, working as a certified nursing assistant for a local nursing home and hospice. Jessica says she became a nurse because she has always had an insatiable need to help and heal others since she was a little girl. “I am first and foremost a nurse and I never want to abandon that role,” she explains. “Becoming an advanced practitioner gave me greater autonomy and allowed me to advance my skills and provide a higher level of care to my patients while staying true to who I am.” Jessica believes that access to good primary care helps people to live longer and healthier lives. “Primary care is the foundation for everything we do,” she says. “I truly believe there is no other area in medicine that gives providers as much leverage to improve the overall health and well-being of patients.” Jessica truly enjoys her role as a nurse practitioner and being able to help her patients meet their overall health goals. In her spare time she enjoys art projects, spending time with her family, adventuring and laughing as much as possible.
