A graduate of Trinity College and MCPHS University, Jo-Ellen says she became an advanced practitioner because it allowed her to find balance and fulfillment in caring for her patients while also raising a family. Jo-Ellen has spent the majority of her career practicing Family Medicine in both a primary care and urgent care setting. She now works in Pre-Admission Testing at Worcester Medical Center.
Jo-Ellen says that it is important for her to connect with her patients. “I enjoy forming close bonds with my patients and caring for them through their difficult life states,” she explains. “I always want to get to know them and build a trusting relationship. Communication is key and when there is a bond, we can work together to create the best outcomes.”
As a physician assistant, Jo-Ellen says that what she likes the most about being a caregiver is the privilege of feeling like she can make a difference. “It allows me to help people through the scary, hard times, and celebrate the happy times,” she explains. “People trust me with their most private issues, and I get to help them. It is an honor that leaves me fulfilled every day.”
In her spare time Jo-Ellen likes to exercise, travel, read, decorate and enjoy the busy life of being a mom to three great kids.
