A graduate of Boston University and Boston College, Linda has also studied at UMass Boston and Tufts University. Linda’s first job as a nurse practitioner was in primary care, working with adults and seniors. “I really enjoyed primary care, I found it to be like detective work – one needs to do a good assessment in order to sort out what’s really going on for the patient,” she explains. Linda is certified as both an adult and gerontological nurse practitioner. “My position as a nurse practitioner in the Division of Cardiology allows me to integrate my love of cardiac nursing in a role that provides great one-to-one patient care.” One of Linda’s strengths is working with patients on improving their exercise and diet habits. “Nutrition and healthy cooking has long been a hobby of mine. With completion of my Certificate of Graduate Studies in Nutrition Science at Tufts, I feel more comfortable in my ability to share this information with patients.” Linda also enjoys using her knowledge to help patients with chronic conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. “I believe no matter how many chronic conditions a patient may have, there is always room to make improvements in overall health.” When she is not busy with patients, Linda enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. She also likes to walk and swim, including at a lake in the summer months. Linda is also an enthusiastic gardener, and enjoys growing herbs for cooking at home.
