Melissa is a graduate of the UMass Medical School in Worcester with a Master’s degree in Nursing. She is currently working toward her Doctorate in Nursing and expects to graduate in June, 2019. Originally a nurse, Melissa decided to become an advanced practitioner because she wanted to work more closely with patients. “I believe creating stronger personal relationships with my patients helps me provide them with the best possible care to fit their needs and circumstances,” she explains. Melissa believes in a holistic approach to care in the hope of fostering a healing environment that treats all patients with compassion and respect. “As a caregiver, I believe it’s important to focus on the health and wellness of the entire individual, not just one particular problem.” Melissa enjoys working closely with patients to solve their issues and improve their health. “Every day, I get to see and experience a variety of things which helps me improve my knowledge and skills, and ultimately, my patient’s health.” When she is not busy with patients, Melissa enjoys spending time outdoors with her dogs as well as hiking, biking and swimming.
