Michelle believes strongly in the importance of preventative care, which helped her make the decision to become an advanced practitioner. “After several years of working as a nurse in an ICU, it became clear that appropriate and timely preventative care could reduce poor outcomes for many patients,” she explains. “I thought that the best way to be a part of the solution was to become a provider of preventative care, practicing in a primary care setting.”
Michelle enjoys working in Family Practice, seeing patients of all ages. “In Family Practice, I can provide care across the lifespan, participating in both preventative care as well as treatment for chronic conditions. I enjoy celebrating with families as they expand, and providing comfort to those in need.”
In her practice, Michelle says she likes to focus on holistic care and building a partnership with patients. “I believe a patient’s physical, emotional, social, economic, and spiritual needs can and will impact their response to illness and wellness. By working together, greater health goals can be attained.”
Michelle enjoys building strong connections and making a difference in people’s lives. “I enjoy finding creative ways to meet the needs of my patients by listening to them and including them in the care plan. I enjoy being able to share my knowledge with my patients in a way that helps them feel comfortable being part of the team, thus empowering them and helping to improve their overall quality of life.”
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys gardening, playing piano, meditating, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
