A graduate of Columbia University and the University of Massachusetts Lowell, Myra has been a nurse since 1978 and a nurse practitioner since 1994. Throughout her career, she has enjoyed working closely with her patients and having an impact on their lives. Myra is certified in Advanced Diabetes Management and enjoys helping patients with their diabetes problems. “Many people in my own family have diabetes and I have always been interested in helping patients understand that they can live a normal life with this disease.” Myra believes strongly that patients and those who love them should be involved in and accountable for their care. “As healthcare providers, we have a responsibility to help patients understand what it takes for them to be as healthy as possible, whether or not they have to deal with a chronic illness.” In her spare time Myra enjoys playing with her six wonderful grandchildren, organizing activities for kids at church, knitting, singing and playing the recorder.
