A graduate from the University of New Mexico, the University of Northern Colorado and Pennsylvania State University, Patrice has been working in the field of Psychology for over 25 years. In addition to her work as a mental health clinician, Patrice also has experience working as a regular and special education teacher for middle and high schoolers. She chose to become a Pediatric Psychologist because of her interest in children and adolescents. “I enjoy and admire their creativity, resiliency and energy,” she explains. “It has been both exciting and rewarding to help the children I’ve worked with uncover their strengths and talents and apply them in ways that help them grow and flourish.”
As a Pediatric Psychologist, Patrice treats a variety of behavioral health issues, including neurodevelopmental problems, anxiety, trauma, stress, schizophrenia, depression, as well as bipolar, obsessive compulsive and disruptive disorders. As a care provider, Patrice believes that working closely with the families of her patients is critical to treatment. “I am teaching the parents to be more effective problem solvers by focusing on solutions that will work and encourage new ways of living,” she explains. She uses her expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to support a child’s development while focusing on identifying key strengths to help build a healthier overall family. When she is out of the office, Patrice enjoys spending time with her family, as well as walking, reading and trips to the mountains or the beach.
