A provider may not have star ratings accompanying his/her website profile for one or more of the following reasons:
A graduate of SUNY Polytechnic Institute and Pace University, Pratima started off as a registered nurse before becoming a nurse practitioner. Pratima made the decision to become an advanced practitioner because when she was working as a registered nurse she saw various conditions and diseases that she thought could have been prevented with proper care. “Seeing this made me realize that primary care is the best way to prevent diseases and complications from chronic conditions and have a positive impact on the health of patients,” she explains.
Pratima chose to work in Family Practice because she enjoys getting to know her patients as a whole person rather than just a single aspect of their medical condition. “I like the fact that I get to see and treat a variety of conditions and illnesses across people’s lifespans. I also enjoy listening and developing meaningful relationships with patients which allows me to provide better and more holistic care. Pratima believes it’s important to collaborate with others including specialty providers, support staff, social workers and care coordinators in the health of her patients. “I try to meet all the needs of my patients in order to promote optimal health,” she explains. “I really enjoy seeing my patients improve their health and quality of life.”
In her spare time Pratima enjoys gardening, painting and coming up with new ideas to decorate her home.
