A graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and the Physician Assistant Program at Tufts University College of Medicine in Boston, Ross grew up in a medical family who helped expose him to the field of healthcare. “When I decided several years ago that I wanted to practice medicine, I knew I wanted a career that would allow me to use my skills while creating and maintaining lasting relationships with patients,” he explains. “That’s why I chose primary care. The breadth and scope of a family medicine practice is incredible – there’s always something more you can learn, which appeals to me. Plus there’s a range of patients of all ages and in all stages of health, with the opportunity to spend time on counseling, health maintenance, and prevention.”
Ross believes strongly in listening carefully to every patient and understanding how their health impacts their life. “When treating my patients, I try to put myself in their shoes to help understand how I can improve their quality of life. As caregivers, we help patients with medicines, tests and procedures, but in many ways I believe giving advice and being compassionate is just as important in helping patients live happy and fulfilled lives.” In his spare time Ross enjoys being with his wife and family. He also enjoys different types of cooking, from barbecuing to making Japanese food. A big music music lover, Ross enjoys playing the guitar, piano and ukulele. He is also a big movie fan, and is currently trying to watch all of the American Film Institute’s 100 Greatest Movies.
