“The teamwork here is really impressive...”
Dr. Vinay Menon enjoys the challenge of helping patients in a hospital setting. “As a hospitalist, I often deal with some very sick patients, but it makes you feel good at the end of the day when you know you’ve helped someone,” he says. “The work here is challenging, but also very rewarding.”
Dr. Menon enjoys working closely with patients and their families, most of whom are very closely knit. “When you have a difficult patient who is very sick and you are able to help them and then send them home to their family, I think the appreciation you get in return is really priceless.”
Dr. Menon enjoys taking advantage of electronic medical records when caring for his patients, which have replaced conventional paper charts. “I think doctors are getting less and less reliant on paper and more reliant on electronic data. This is helpful in many important ways. Having all this information at your fingertips is very important in making decisions about the patient.”
In dealing with complex cases, Dr. Menon enjoys being able to take advantage of experienced specialists when he has a question. “One thing I have noticed about working here is that everyone is very friendly and available to help if you have a question. If something needs to be addressed, they help you get it solved. The teamwork here is really impressive…”
During his spare time Dr. Menon enjoys traveling, especially to the Rocky Mountains and the Ozarks. He also enjoys hiking and white-water rafting. Dr. Menon’s interests also include listening to blues music and playing the guitar.
Please Note: Dr. Menon provides acute medical care for patients of Reliant Medical Group who are admitted to Saint Vincent Hospital.
