“Biologic medications have really made a difference in the treatment of many skin diseases.”
Growing up in the Ukraine and Massachusetts, Dr. Vladyslav Doktor always felt she had an innate desire to help people and work in a humanitarian field. “Ever since I was a child I always knew I wanted to go into medicine,” she explains. “I thought it would be a great way to help others.”
Dr. Doktor decided to go into dermatology because she finds it a fun, multi-faceted field. “Dermatology features all different aspects of medicine, including the internal diseases that manifest in the skin – so it is a very broad-based specialty. I enjoy performing procedures and also using my skills to help people improve their appearance.” Some of the conditions that Dr. Doktor treats include psoriasis, acne, rashes, benign skin growths, skin cancer and hair loss. She is also highly experienced in cosmetic dermatology, including using Botox and fillers to improve the look of the skin.
In her practice at Reliant, Dr. Doktor has been encouraged by the new treatments for psoriasis and eczema. “Biologic medications have really made a difference in the treatment of these diseases of the skin,” she explains. “These drugs have really had a very positive effect on people’s lives and greatly improved their quality of life.”
Dr. Doktor enjoys working as part of a team. “I really enjoy seeing patients and working with staff every day. We spend so much of our time at work, I think it’s important to be happy and enjoy it. Seeing patients that you have successfully treated when they come back to the office with a smile on their face makes it all worthwhile.”
When she is not busy with patients Dr. Doktor enjoys being with family and friends. She also enjoys traveling with her husband and exploring new cuisines.
