Anne became a speech-language pathologist because she wanted to help people improve their communication skills. “I believe communication is one of the most important aspects of being a human. It is how we develop relationships and share our stories, which makes each person unique,” she explains.

In her work at Reliant Anne enjoys using a patient-centered approach to working with people. “I want speech therapy outcomes to be as functional as possible, and to do that, therapy should be individualized to meet each patient’s needs.” Anne has experience in working with patients that have Parkinson’s disease, those undertaking stroke rehabilitation and also pediatric English Language Learners.

Anne likes the fact that speech therapists get to work not only on speech and language, but also voice, cognition, feeding and swallowing, hearing rehabilitation, social skills, and alternative modes of communication. “My passion is helping people to gain a better quality of life specific to their lifestyles,” she explains. “And I love using my skills to help people accomplish that.”

In her spare time, Anne enjoys being outdoors as much as possible and enjoys activities such as gardening and hiking.
