The Division of Nephrology at Reliant Medical Group provides expert care for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the kidneys, including electrolyte disturbances, kidney stones, glomerular and vascular disorders, hypertension, acute and chronic kidney disease, and end-stage renal disease. Genetic conditions, including polycystic kidney disease, are also treated.
Reliant Medical Group nephrologists are highly-trained specialists who have completed a three-year residency in internal medicine followed by at least a two-year or longer fellowship in nephrology. To deliver the best care possible, our nephrologists often work closely with other experts in the care of patients including endocrinologists, cardiologists, hospitalists, and other providers.
Patients typically see a nephrologist for:
- Chronic kidney disease
- Hematuria (blood in the urine)
- Kidney failure
- Chronic urinary tract infections
- Renal artery stenosis
- Kidney stone diseases
- Electrolyte disorders (acid/base imbalances)
- Pre-transplant evaluation
For patients needing dialysis, convenient treatment is available at Saint Vincent Hospital, near the offices of the Division of Nephrology. Educational programs are also provided for dialysis patients and their families.
