A graduate of Quinnipiac University, Alexandra Chalifoux became an Occupational Therapist because she wanted to help people of all ages and have the opportunity to learn and grow in her chosen field. She enjoys working with the unique people she meets and helping to improve people’s everyday functions. She says, “It has been a good day when one of my patients comes in and reports they can do something they were previously unable to do or a parent tells me of an improvement they see in their child.” Alexandra also enjoys the problem-solving aspects of working in Occupational Therapy. Her job is to help people be as functional as possible. That might mean providing a tool, solution, compensatory strategy, an adaptation or an exercise. “I want people’s lives to be full and limitless.” Some special areas of interest for Alexandra are pediatrics, orthopedics, myofascial release (soft tissue therapy), and working with neurorehabilitation patients.
