A graduate of SUNY New Paltz and UMDNJ (University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey), Tina Wang has been practicing as a physician assistant since 2006. Tina decided to become a physician assistant after seeing how well the advanced practitioner at her college worked with patients. “I wanted to model my current practice on how well she treated me,” she explains. Tina works in the department of Hospital Medicine at Reliant Medical Group, helping patients who have been hospitalized at Saint Vincent Hospital. Tina has extensive experience in the area of cardiology, which helps with her work with hospital patients. “My most recent cardio work was in electrophysiology, treating abnormal heart rhythms. I enjoy explaining to patients the physiology of the cardiac system.” Tina also enjoys the fact that as a physician assistant she has the flexibility to work in a variety of areas of medicine. In her spare time Tina enjoys cooking and reading, and loves to browse in bookstores.
