Overall Patient Rating
4.8 out of 5 stars - 154 total ratingsMaria initially chose to become an audiologist because of her passion for music and live performances. Now at Reliant Medical Group, she enjoys working with hearing aids and helping her patients stay connected to the people and activities they love.
Maria follows a patient-first, educational approach to hearing care. “I believe that by building strong relationships with patients and teaching them more about their hearing loss, I can help them stay connected to their loved ones and empower them to become strong advocates for their communicative needs,” she explains. “I enjoy using my skills to help people stay engaged and active in their everyday lives.”
According to Maria, one of her biggest challenges is managing realistic expectations with regard to hearing amplification. “Many factors are at play in miscommunications,” she explains. “While hearing aids are certainly life-changing for many, amplification alone cannot resolve all communicative issues. Hearing aids can help in many situations, but for optimal communication, it is key to use effective communication strategies in conjunction with appropriately fit hearing aids.”
In her spare time Maria enjoys seeing live music, traveling, kayaking, and going hiking with her husband and her dog.
