Carolyn’s area of expertise has always been Neurology. “Whether a student nurse or a nurse practitioner, I have always loved practicing in Neurology. It’s the field of medicine that I enjoy working in the most.”
In her practice within the Neurology department at Reliant, Carolyn enjoys providing individualized, highly skilled care. “I want each patient to feel they are my only patient,” she explains. “From when I enter the exam room to when I leave I want them to feel special because they are special. It is a privilege to care for them especially as their disease state makes them vulnerable in many ways.”
Carolyn says that the biggest challenge she previously faced as an advanced practitioner is no longer an issue. “It used to be that the average person did not understand what the role of a nurse practitioner was, but fortunately that has changed,” she explains. “It’s no longer a common question for my patients. One reason I enjoy being an advanced practitioner is that I like being able to combine my nursing education and advanced practice medicine. It allows me to provide well-rounded patient care.”
When she is not busy with patients, Carolyn enjoys being with her adult son, playing with her dogs, hosting family gatherings, cooking favorite recipes, and attending as many Bruce Springsteen concerts as she can.
Star ratings are based on patient responses to 5 questions about the care they have received from their provider. Responses are measured on a scale of 1-5 and the average score is displayed in an easy to view, 5-star format. Learn more about how we measure our patient experience.
