Dr. William C. Cooper decided to become a physician because he wanted a career that involved helping others. He was inspired to go into podiatry by another family member who practiced in the profession.
In his practice some of Dr. Cooper’s special interests include sports medicine, bio-mechanics, and diabetic foot care. He also assists patients with custom orthotic inserts, fracture care, and surgery to correct ingrown toenails. Dr. Cooper takes a lot of satisfaction in helping patients who are suffering from foot pain. “Foot pain can really affect a person’s quality of life, so it’s very gratifying to be able to assist someone and get them back to normal,” he explains.
During a career that has lasted over four decades Dr. Cooper has learned that listening to the patient is one of his most important skills. “I try to always have good communication with my patient and work closely with them to solve their problem. Good communication is really at the heart of the doctor-patient relationship.”
In his spare time Dr. Cooper enjoys boating and fishing.
