After working for four years as a registered nurse, Freda made the decision to become an advanced practitioner so she could have a greater impact on the care that her patients receive. “In this role, I can further support my patients and work as part of a care team that delivers personalized care to each patient,” she explains. “I really enjoy learning, and I plan to continue to grow as a nurse practitioner and gain a deeper body of knowledge to interpret, diagnose and recommend treatments for my patients.”

Freda previously worked in family medicine before becoming a hospitalist. “I enjoyed the fact that I had the ability to take care of a variety of patients and families of all different ages,” she explains. “The knowledge and clinical experience that I acquired in family medicine will improve my overall impact on patient care working as a hospitalist.”

Freda enjoys spending time with patients, and believes that trust and therapeutic care work hand-in-hand to improve outcomes. “My goal is to provide my patients with guidance, positive reinforcement and support, ensuring that they feel like someone really cares about their well-being,” she explains. “Ultimately, this can boost their mood and motivate change, smoothing their road to recovery.”

Freda enjoys the challenge of practicing as a hospitalist at Reliant Medical Group. “I love the fact that I have the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of my patients and change their lives for the better. I am also excited about collaborating with a variety of healthcare providers as well as patients and families to provide more individualized care. “

In her spare time Freda enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. She also takes time to volunteer with her church to serve the less fortunate. “I also enjoy participating in a wellness clinic within the church that provides educational and health promotion opportunities for the homeless and the general public.”
