Although she started her career as a nurse, Nicole decided to become an advanced practitioner because she wanted to do more with her education and have a greater impact on the lives of her patients.

In her practice at Reliant, Nicole strives to provide patient-centered care. “I believe in educating my patients on their diagnoses, as well as their treatment options,” she explains. “This allows them to make fully informed decisions about their care. I always encourage my patients to ask questions and to advocate for themselves. I find the more educated a patient is about their condition, the easier it is for them to make healthier choices.”

Nicole has gained a lot of experience helping patients with substance use issues. “Not only do I know many people who have been impacted by substance use, but my family has also been personally impacted by this disease,” she explains. “There is nothing more rewarding than being able to provide support and understanding to people who are going through some of the hardest times of their lives – and to see them be successful with their recovery.

One of the things that Nicole likes the most about being an advanced practitioner is being able to help her patients attain their healthcare goals. “When a patient is able to tell me how good they feel, or how proud they are of the changes they’ve made, I feel very privileged to be able to be a part of that success.”

When she is not busy with her patients, Nicole loves to go camping with family in the summer and enjoy skiing in the winter. “I also enjoy hiking and gardening, and love to read.”
