A graduate of George Washington University, Dr. Sarah Katz has always had a passion for helping others. Her curiosity regarding the human mind helped draw her to the field of psychology as a career. Dr. Katz has extensive experience working with adults who struggle with anxiety and mood disorders as well as chronic health conditions. She believes in working together with her clients to improve their ability to manage the impact of stress in their lives. Dr. Katz likes to encourage change through self-kindness, awareness, and understanding how people’s symptoms may interfere with their goals. She believes strongly that people should have easy access to behavioral health services. “I think it’s critical to improve access to these services for those individuals who may want to participate, but may feel wary about talking to a psychologist,” she explains. “My goal is to reduce this stigma through making behavioral health services readily accessible and approachable. I believe integrating behavioral health within a primary care setting further improves access to care.” Some of Dr. Katz’s special interests include trauma-informed treatment, mindfulness, relaxation techniques and cognitive behavioral therapy.
