A provider may not have star ratings accompanying his/her website profile for one or more of the following reasons:
A native of Worcester, Soultana-Konstantina Skritakis first started her medical career as a Patient Safety Assistant in the Emergency Department at Milford Regional Medical Center. She now enjoys helping patients as a member of the Division of Neurology at Reliant. “I have always been drawn to the complexity of the brain,” she explains. “The way I see it, any neurological issue is like a puzzle and it’s up to me to solve it in order to help my patient.”
In her job at Reliant, Soultana-Konstantina loves to learn from other medical providers. “I was drawn to the collaborative nature of being an advanced practitioner. I really enjoy working as part of a team setting, as this allows for different perspectives when helping patients. All of us work hard to provide the best possible care.”
Both of Soultana-Konstantina’s grandfathers were affected by neurological conditions – one by Parkinson’s disease and one by a stroke. “In helping to care for them, my love for neuroscience was solidified,” she explains. “My goal is to treat each and every patient I encounter with as great care as my grandparents received.”
Soultana-Konstantina believes that it is a privilege to care for patients each day and that in order to truly care for your patients you must consider the interconnectedness of all factors in their daily lives. “My philosophy of care revolves around the bio-psycho-social model of wellness and medicine,” she explains. “I wholeheartedly believe that I must treat each patient as the person they are, not just their symptoms. I have the privilege of caring for others each and every day. I get to meet new people, learn about their thoughts and concerns, and ultimately help them.”
A first generation Greek American, in her spare time Soultana-Konstantina enjoys spending time with her family, traveling with friends, teaching Sunday school, reading, and lots of shopping.
