Welcome to the Weight and Lifestyle Medicine program!  We are very excited to be part of your care.

Weight management can be challenging and is different for each person. Our team-based program is designed to help you explore options that may support your health and weight management goals. Your care team will work with you to develop lifestyle changes and treatment options that are appropriate for your individual needs. These may include nutrition support, behavioral health support, medication options, stress management resources, or, for some patients, bariatric surgery. Results vary by individual.

Our Services:

  1. One-on-one Medical Appointments
Appointments will be scheduled with one of our weight management clinicians, Dr. Henri Zhuri or Dr. Pascale Carbonara, who will oversee your care and work with you to develop an individualized treatment plan based on your goals and your clinical needs.
  2. Nutrition Appointments
We have nutritionists who will work with you and your physician to identify a healthy eating routine that best fits your current lifestyle.
  3. Behavioral Health Appointments
Weight management is not just about physical aspects of your health, but understanding your feelings about and relationship with food and body image, habits and behaviors that promote or impede your weight loss and a healthier you. Meeting with one of our behavioral health clinicians can be an important part of your successful weight loss journey.
  4. Diet and Medication Options
Our clinicians will work closely with you and your nutritionist to implement the right diet for you. At your first visit with the doctor, you will identify ways in which you can augment your current healthy habits and incorporate new ones. Follow up appointments will help you assess what’s working well and further adapt your routine to stick to healthy dieting guidelines. For some patients, prescription medication options may be discussed when clinically appropriate. Your clinician will review potential benefits, risks, FDA-approved uses, and other considerations with you.
  5. Surgery
Bariatric surgery may be an option for some patients when clinically appropriate. Surgery is elective and is not required. If you choose to explore surgery, your care team can discuss available referral options, help coordinate next steps, and support lifestyle changes before and after surgery.
