A graduate of Clark University and Simmons School of Social Work, Edith has been working in the mental health field since 2015. Edith believes in providing comprehensive, culturally responsive, and client-centered care. “I believe a strong, therapeutic alliance and relationship is essential to enhance collaborative work with patients,” she explains.
Edith is a strong believer in focusing on supporting and empowering ethnic and racial minorities and members of the LGBTQ community. “I want to do all I can to enhance patients’ mental health and self-actualization, no matter their background.” Edith has extensive experience working with children with emotional and behavioral challenges, and individuals with significant mental illness and substance misuse. “My concentration has been on working with individuals with significant anxiety, depression, and trauma, as well as individuals with a history of substance misuse.”
Edith is passionate about providing Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as it focuses on skills training to change behavior, emotional thinking, and interpersonal patterns associated with problems in living. “DBT provides me with the opportunity to support individuals’ and help them find a life worth living,” she explains. Through this process, Edith continues to provide compassion, empathy, and respect, as therapy can be challenging and rewarding.
When she is not busy with her patients, Edith likes to spend quality time with her family, friends, and pets. She also enjoys yoga and hiking.
