Liz began her career as a nurse and later studied to become a nurse practitioner. She has always viewed helping others as a privilege. “After working as an RN in an inpatient facility and seeing the growing need for compassionate care for the pediatric population, I knew I could make a difference,” she explains.
A big inspiration for Liz to enter the mental health field was her mother who is a psychiatric nurse. “Watching her talk so passionately about her work with patients certainly inspired me from the beginning,” she explains.
In her practice at Reliant Liz prides herself on providing non-judgmental and holistic care that emphasizes the whole patient. “I take a compassionate approach to ensure each patient feels understood, supported and safe,” she explains. “I also strongly believe in collaboration and am committed to patient education. My extensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and suicide prevention has allowed me to positively impact many of my patients.”
Liz is very passionate about helping children and adolescents become the best version of themselves they can be. “I believe strongly in making sure each patient understands they are not a problem that needs to be fixed, and I appreciate that patients and families count on me to support them in their time of need, she explains. “Talking to a stranger about your sadness and worries for the first time can be beyond challenging, so I strive to make sure each patient feels comfortable and understood.”
In her spare time, Liz enjoys walking her dogs Stella and Charlie, binging on a good TV show, reading, playing video games and spending time with friends and family.
