As well as being an experienced social worker, Lesley is also certified in providing Animal Assisted Therapy to patients. “I worked as a lead animal control officer earlier in my career and found it exceptionally rewarding to assist people during or after a crisis situation, including other first responders,” she explains. “Over the years I’ve worked in many situations, including in hospitals and with law enforcement, responding to calls for help in the community. Being able to connect with people and support them in finding a solution is what motivates me to be a licensed social worker.”

Lesley’s approach to care is to be solution-focused with her patients. “It’s perfectly normal to have struggles at times in our lives,” she explains. “Having someone you can talk to and be completely honest with is very helpful. So is finding humor in our problems when we can. I think that the way Reliant has integrated Behavioral Health with primary care is a great benefit in getting people the type of care they need in a timely manner.”

In her spare time Lesley loves being outdoors and especially enjoys hiking, camping or skiing in the mountains. She also loves to visit friends and family in Scotland as often as she can. Lesley also has three dogs that are certified in Animal Assisted Therapy and enjoys visiting schools and hospitals with them.
