A graduate of Blessing-Rieman College of Nursing and Rush University, Mila started her career as a pediatric nurse and later worked as a nursing supervisor and a clinic manager at Reliant. During this time, she decided to go back to school and received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in pediatric primary care. “Nursing is my calling and I truly enjoy caring for patients and families,” she explains. “As I gained more experience as a nurse, I realized I wanted to do more for patients and families and becoming a nurse practitioner was a natural way for me to meet my aspirations.” Mila truly enjoys caring for children and allowing them to get involved in their health. “I believe in educating and involving children in their healthcare. It’s great to be able to watch the progress they make with support from their parents as they grow older.”
Mila is a strong believer in practicing preventative care. “I really believe preventative medicine is the cornerstone of maintaining good health and habits in both children and adults. That’s why I always stress it with my patients. For example, good eating habits and exercise can help maintain healthy weight and minimize the risk of obesity.” One of the things that Mila likes most about her job is watching newborns and young children as they grow into adults. “It’s truly a privilege to be welcomed into the family and care for children as they grow – I think it’s really the best part of my job.” In her spare time Mila enjoys teaching undergraduate nursing classes in Central Massachusetts. She also enjoys playing with her dog, traveling, and visiting family in the Midwest. Although not a New England native, she likes to visit different towns and sites in New England as well as enjoy the seashore.
