Breastfeeding has many benefits for mother and baby, but sometimes breastfeeding your child doesn’t always go smoothly. In fact, problems can be quite common. That’s why Reliant Medical Group provides certified lactation counselors at our pediatric locations. So, if you are having issues like latching difficulties, low milk supply, painful breasts, or other breastfeeding concerns, we can help.

All of our certified lactation counselors have undergone specialized training to support breastfeeding mothers and their infants. During your initial visit with your lactation specialist, we will discuss your concerns, identify goals, evaluate your child, and progress through an actual feeding episode. Your lactation specialist will then make recommendations to make your breastfeeding more successful, as well as provide educational materials and ongoing support in your breastfeeding journey.

Appointments are available Monday through Friday, and we can provide lactation appointments remotely using our telehealth options. Currently, Reliant has certified lactation counselors in Auburn, Framingham, Holden, Leominster, Milford, Shrewsbury, Southborough and Westborough. If you would like to meet with one of our lactation specialists, just ask your pediatric care provider for a referral. Please take advantage of this important resource if you need it!
