The American Heart Association has honored Reliant Medical Group for earning Gold level recognition as part of its 2019 Check. Change. Control. CholesterolTM recognition program. To earn this award, Reliant achieved an exceptional (greater than 70%) appropriate statin therapy use in its patient population.
High cholesterol is one of the major controllable risk factors for heart disease, heart attack and stroke, estimated to cause 2.6 million deaths annually. Surveys show that nearly two-thirds of people who have high cholesterol don’t think they are at high risk for a heart attack or stroke. The American Heart Association initiated its Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol program to help people better understand the risks and learn to manage their cholesterol.
Congratulations to all our medical providers and staff who have worked so hard to help Reliant Medical Group receive national recognition in its control of cholesterol for its adult population!
