Chair Exercises are Great for Seniors

As we get older we often have mobility issues but that doesn’t mean that we can’t exercise. Chair exercises are a great way for older adults to work out. There’s no need for a trip to the gym or fancy equipment, you can get some great exercise just using a chair (and possibly a resistance band or some dumbbells).

Exercise is important no matter what your age, as you need exercise to keep your muscles strong and your body functioning properly. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends seniors exercise approximately 150 minutes per week.

Kavitha Mamidala, Physical Therapist at Reliant Medical Group, demonstrates various chair exercises for seniors in a three-part video series. These exercises can be easily done at home!
