A graduate of St. Joseph’s College and the UMass Worcester Graduate School of Nursing, Cara Simpson has been helping patients for over 25 years. Cara believes in practicing holistic nursing, which means the ability to evaluate and provide care to patients as they interact emotionally, cognitively and spiritually with their community. “My role as an advanced practitioner provides a unique blend of medical and nursing care, which patients enjoy and I find rewarding,” she explains. Cara say’s that her biggest challenge is providing complex care to elderly patients who are often limited functionally and cognitively. Cara truly enjoys working with geriatric patients and other geriatric providers. “Geriatricians really do have more fun – it’s our best kept secret.” In her spare time, Cara enjoys playing piano, gardening and being with her kids.
