A provider may not have star ratings accompanying his/her website profile for one or more of the following reasons:
Lacey developed her love of science and biology at a young age and has long been fascinated with how the human body works. Prior to studying to become a physician assistant, Lacey obtained a job with a gynecologist to gain medical experience. “I was the only staff person in addition to the doctor, so I became very familiar with all aspects of OB-Gyn care. I developed a love for the field and knew this was the area of medicine I wanted to pursue,” she explains.
Lacey says that one of the reasons she loves practicing in OB-Gyn is the ability to develop long term relationships with her patients, including the ability to follow women through their pregnancies and beyond. She also enjoys that she is able to use her surgical skills in addition to providing office-based women’s health care.
At Reliant, Lacey’s approach to patient care is to ensure that her patients feel comfortable, listened to, and respected during their visit in order to gain their trust as their provider. “I believe in educating the patient and making recommendations for their care, and also empowering the patient to make their own treatment decisions. It’s important to work together as a team to determine the best plan of care for each unique patient.”
One of the things Lacey loves the most about being an OB-Gyn provider is following women through adolescence as well as through their potential pregnancies and later years. “I love hearing how the children of my patients grow and learning more about them during their annual visits,” she explains. “The greatest compliment I get is when patients refer their friends and family members to me. I want to change the culture of women’s healthcare so that it doesn’t have to be something the woman dreads every year, but instead sees it as an opportunity to take charge of their health in the most comfortable setting possible.”
Lacey is the mother of four children (two boys and two girls). They have four cats. In her spare time she enjoys being with her family and loves to attend her children’s sporting events. She also loves to travel, attend live concerts, and play Texas hold ’em poker with her husband.
