Both Ryan’s mother and grandmother were physical therapists and he couldn’t help but notice how happy they were in the profession so he made the decision to follow in their footsteps. Ryan truly enjoys helping people become as he explains, “the best version of themselves.”
Ryan is always amazed at how much of a difference physical therapy can make in a person’s life. “The scope of what physical therapists are able to do and treat is huge and always growing. It brings me a lot of joy to be able to relieve someone of their pain or improve their level of functioning.”
Ryan likes to think of himself as a facilitator of healing – helping a patient heal themselves. “Our bodies are naturally designed to recover from an injury,” he explains. “Perspective and mindset play a huge role in therapy and the healing process. I like to think that a person can help themselves, as their body knows how to heal. It may just need a jump-start or some extra encouragement from someone like me.”
In his spare time Ryan likes to be active, whether going to the gym, going running or on hikes, kayaking, and other outdoor activities like walking his dog. He also enjoys being with family and friends, practicing mindfulness, and spending time in nature.
