Many women first consider a midwife’s services when they find out they are pregnant. Others look for a midwife to assist them with their gynecological care. In either case, Reliant Medical Group’s midwives are here to help.

Most women have heard about midwives, but not everyone understands all that their role encompasses. Midwifery care varies from state to state, depending on certification and licensing. All of the midwives at Reliant Medical Group are licensed Advanced Practice Nurses who specialize in pregnancy, childbirth, and women’s health. Our Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) care for women who are in good overall health. If you have a medical or an obstetrical complication, your Certified Nurse Midwife, will co-manage your care with one of our talented OB/Gyn physicians, in our model of team care delivery system.

In addition to supporting women during childbirth, midwives also offer other routine services for women including annual gynecological exams, pap smears, preconception counseling, prenatal care, contraception, and menopausal management. Midwives offer a significant pathway of knowledge, and will teach you about fertility, your contraceptive options, best nutrition options, and breastfeeding.

The goal of all the Certified Nurse Midwives at Reliant Medical Group is to support women and their families in the process of pregnancy and help them welcome their baby in a safe environment with attentive, personalized care while minimizing unnecessary interventions. At Reliant, our CNMs are part of the on call services in partnership with our physician partners. Although not available 24 hours – seven days a week, the right balance of in-office care and on-call coverage has been designed to optimize our availability for our patients.  If you are thinking about receiving care from a midwife, there’s no better place than Reliant.
