A provider may not have star ratings accompanying his/her website profile for one or more of the following reasons:
A graduate of UMass Chan Medical School Tan Chingfen Graduate School of Nursing, Jennifer worked as a nurse’s aid and registered nurse before becoming an advanced practitioner.
Jennifer says that she became a nurse practitioner so she could advocate for patients of all ages. “Before transitioning to the medical field, I worked with children on and off the autism spectrum,” she explains. “I noticed that the parents of those children often had trouble being heard and getting their needs met. By becoming a nurse practitioner, I could be there to listen and advocate for those who needed it.”
At Reliant, Jennifer enjoys working with children of all ages. “I especially enjoy treating children. I like to grow with my patients and help them discover healthy lifestyle choices,” she explains. “As we age, our needs and health concerns change. I want to be the provider my patients know they can trust when they have questions about their health.”
Jennifer likes to care for her patients just like she would like to be treated by her own provider. “Going into appointments can be very intimidating and it helps knowing that the person you are going to see on the other side of the door is on your side rooting for your success,” she explains. “By approaching each appointment through a patient-centered lens, I put the patient in charge of their care just as much as I am.”
Jennifer enjoys constantly learning and being challenged. “I enjoy staying up-to-date with treatments and guidelines as I feel it is crucial to good patient care. I love hearing about my patient’s hobbies, passions, and families. I have learned so much from them and will continue to do so.”
When she is not busy seeing patients, Jennifer enjoys taking her dog to the dog park and for walks. She also enjoys photography and loves to explore new locations. She is also a Little League softball coach.
