A graduate of the University of Vermont and the University of Cincinnati, Trista began her career as a registered nurse in pediatrics and maternity and then later studied to become a certified nurse midwife. “I originally chose a nursing career path, and quickly learned that labor and delivery and women’s health was where I was meant to be.”
Trista enjoys being a CNM because it allows her to care for woman throughout the lifespan. “I enjoy educating and assisting women through the many challenges of life – from adolescence and contraception, to conception, pregnancy, labor, postpartum and beyond. As a midwife, I focus on shared decision-making, patient education, and empowering woman to take responsibility for their own health,” she explains. “I strive to remember that pregnancy and childbirth are a natural, physiologic process. There may be difficulties, but we get through them together.”
In her practice Trista enjoys educating woman on family planning, contraception and infertility. “Nothing thrills me more than helping a family achieve pregnancy,” she explains.
During her days off, Trista enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters and her golden retriever, “Frankie.” You can often find her at her “home-away-from home” in New Hampshire, where she enjoys hiking in the mountains and boating on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee.
