Sarah has had many roles in healthcare, including working with children as a registered nurse in schools and camps before deciding to become an advanced practitioner. “I have long been interested in healthcare and ultimately settled on becoming a nurse practitioner because I felt it would give me the best opportunity to use my knowledge and skill set to help people,” she explains.
Practicing in pediatric care was always Sarah’s goal because she enjoyed working with children and families so much. “I really like developing long-standing relationships with my patients and their families, and getting to watch my patients grow up,” she explains. “I also enjoy practicing preventative care and spending time educating patients and families about ways to stay healthy and out of the doctor’s office.”
Sarah believes in caring for the whole child, not just diagnosing individual problems. “I do this by taking the time to listen to my patients and learn from them and their families about what is important to them concerning their health, and placing that within the context of evidence-based care and treatment plans.” Sarah is a strong believer that “it takes a village” and enjoys working with her fellow caregivers, nurses, medical assistants and support staff.”
When she is not busy with patients, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and her dog Coco, who she likes taking on nature walks. She is also a big sports fan and especially enjoys watching the Bruins.
