Born and raised in India, Dr. Chandrika Jain knew from a young age that she wanted a career that involved helping others. She initially thought she would become a nurse, but some family members suggested that becoming a doctor would help her fulfill her goal better.

Dr. Jain has wide-ranging interests in medicine including family care, geriatrics, women’s health and preventative health. “I strive to provide holistic health to all my patients,” she explains. “I really enjoy my geriatric patients, they are very special to me. I love hearing their stories and taking care of their medical needs. They often require counseling and emotional support, and I find it very gratifying to provide that for them.”

In her practice at Reliant, Dr. Jain often counsels patients about nutrition. “Exercise and diet is one of my passions. I love to counsel people on lifestyle choices,” she explains. “Regarding nutrition, what I tell them is also what I practice myself. I think patients appreciate what I share with them and that helps motivate them to be more mindful of what they eat each day.”

Dr. Jain enjoys using the latest methods and technologies to help her patients. “One of the things that has become a part of my personal life is meditation. I think it can be very helpful for stress and anxiety so I often recommend it for my patients as well. I also like to recommend apps as Headspace, Anxiety and Calm for my patients. These phone-based apps can be very useful since they are so easily accessible.”

Dr. Jain is a strong believer in building long-lasting relationships with her patients. “I like to get to know my patients and build a strong relationship with them,” she explains. “I think working with people and developing trusted relationships with them is one of my biggest strengths.”

When she is not busy with patients, Dr. Jain enjoys spending time with her family and her two pet cats. She also loves cooking and gardening as well as yoga, exercising, and practicing daily mindfulness and meditation.
