Dr. Jeffrey Zaref has been practicing pediatrics full time at the Framingham office since 2004. One of his greatest joys as a pediatrician is developing lifelong relationships with families while watching children grow and develop into adulthood. Dr. Zaref also enjoys teaching parents about child development, behavior, and nutrition.
Dr. Zaref attended college at Harvard University where he studied history of science. He earned his medical degree at Duke University in North Carolina, where he also received a Master’s degree in public health at UNC Chapel Hill. Dr. Zaref completed his pediatric residency in San Francisco, California where he increased his fluency in Spanish. Since returning to New England, he has also become proficient in speaking Brazilian Portuguese in the medical setting.
Describing his philosophy of care, Dr. Zaref says, “I like to work together with families to reach decisions that not only make them comfortable, but also promote the greatest wellness. My collaborative approach integrates the individuality of each patient with the best current medical science.” Dr. Zaref views technology as an asset and continues to work with the IT department to improve the use of the electronic medical record at practice sites. The patient access web portal is an important part of Dr. Zaref’s direct communication with families.
When not working at the office, Dr. Zaref loves to spend time with his wife and two daughters. His interests include digital photography, spending time in the outdoors, and exploring new cuisines.
