On your first visit, you will have a consultation with your neurologist. You will be asked questions to learn more about your condition. You will also have a neurological test so your doctor can learn more about the problems you are having and make a diagnosis.
Some patients may need a special procedure (such as a lumbar puncture, electromyography (EMG) or tensilon test) to make a diagnosis. Once a diagnosis is made, your neurologist can offer you the latest treatment options available. Many disorders of the brain and nervous system can be successfully treated with the right medication.
